Avaya wins the Fifth Thomas Edison Patent Award from the R&D Council of NJ because of the work of four of the company’s innovative engineers. The four engineers were honoured at the 36th Patent Award Ceremony and Reception, which was held at the Liberty Science Centre.

Holding almost 5,500 patents and pending ones, Avaya won another patent award because of the completed work of the four engineers/inventors working at Ayala Labs in Basking Ridge, New Jersey. The patent enables workers to be able to quickly and seamlessly access business hands-free conference calls, increasing:

  • Productivity
  • Mobility
  • Safety

Honoured at the 36th Patent Award Ceremony and Reception held at the Liberty Science Centre, the four innovative people to win the patent for “A System and Method for Joining Conference Calls/U.S. Patent 8,483,375” are the following:

  • Venkatesh Krishnaswamy
  • Krishna Kishore Dhara
  • Xiaotao Wu
  • Eunsoo Shim

They will also appear in the tribute film in order to explain their invention and how it will affect the market, including the inspiration that drove them to make it.
