The Avaya Media Gateway DC Power Cord RHS (700406358) is a cord for DC power which is designed particularly for Avaya G650 Media Gateway. This gateway supports one or two power supplies that can have both AC and DC input power present. If you will use two power supplies, the power load will be shared by them. One power supply can operate on AC power and the other on DC power. The Avaya Media Gateway DC Power Cord works with the 655A power supply which is the only power supply supported in the G650 Media Gateway. You can insert or remove a redundant power supply and not affect the G650 if the other power supply is operating.

The system always uses the AC power if it is available. The power supplies use AC power first and switch to DC power if the AC power fails or is not present. The Avaya power supply can operate on AC input that ranges from 90 to 264 VAC at 47 to 63 Hz. When the AC power fails, minus 48VDC power can be supplied simultaneously as backup power. One -48VDC power input point is provided on the G650 backplane and is distributed through the backplane to each power supply.
