Polycom expands its portfolio of solutions which are interoperable with Microsoft Lync 2013. This includes new voice solutions from the company as well as software extensions and new content sharing and video collaboration solutions.
Polycom, Inc. announced new solutions to be interoperable with Microsoft® Lync™ 2013. These include:
- New qualified Polycom voice solutions to the Polycom® RealPresence® Platform
- New software extension to the Polycom® RealPresence® Platform
- Full portfolio of Polycom standards-based video collaboration and content sharing solutions

This expansion of the portfolio of solutions, which are interoperable with Microsoft Lync 2013 is proof that both companies are strengthening their partnership with one another. In fact, this partnership’s foundation is Polycom’s portfolio, composed of 40 solutions which are interoperable with Microsoft Lync 2010. This includes content sharing, video and voice solutions. And due to this collaboration, their offers are considered the most complete yet the lowest in terms of total cost of ownership Unified Communications and Collaboration portfolio in the industry.

Polycom also announced the integration of Lync Server 2013 qualification in several Polycom® VVX® Business Media Phones, including:
- Polycom VVX 500
- Polycom VVX 600
Expecting to achieve it in the second quarter of the same year are the following Polycom® VVX® Business Media Phones:
- Polycom VVX 300
- Polycom VVX 400
The following are also expected to be interoperable with the Lync Server 2013 in June:
- Polycom RealPresence Platform
- Polycom HDX® Series
- Polycom® RealPresence® Group Series of video collaboration endpoints
For the new software extensions to Polycom RealPresence Platform, the following will have software updates:
- Polycom® RealPresence® Collaboration Servers: RMX Series® and Collaboration Server 800s
- Polycom® RealPresence® Virtualisation Manager™: Polycom® DMA®
These updates will make Lync 2013 interoperable with video solutions of Polycom, including:
- New Polycom RealPresence Group Series
- Executive desktop video systems
- Mobile video apps
Through the software updates, both Microsoft and Polycom customers can now use Lync 2013 to use infrastructure supporting open-standards based H.264 AVC or SVC (Scalable Video Coding) and endpoints.
