Paul Newell as Polycom® Vice President for Australia and New Zealand

October 21, 2014- Polycom, Inc. broadcasted that Paul Newell will hold the position as Vice President for Australia and New Zealand, which means that he will be responsible for all of the region’s operational business aspects.

Paul Newell’s History in the Industry

Known for his substantial international and local experience, Paul Newell has been formulating marketing, operational and sales strategies in the Asia Pacific region and implementing them for almost 20 years. He joined the Polycom family in year 2008 and began his current longstanding leadership position in the company.

As Asia Pacific’s System Engineering & Service Sales Vice President in the past, Paul Newell was in control of the initiatives for the region’s strategies, UC Alliances, Systems Integrators and Service Providers partner relations and the company’s general business operations.

He was also the JDSU Asia-Pacific Sales Director. This company is one of the IT industry’s leading providers of:

• Communications Test
• Measurement Solutions
• Optical Products

In this same position during his tenure, he was responsible for several business operations including:

• Formulation, coordination and implementation of sales
• Marketing
• Operational programmes

And recently, with all his six years of handling strategic sales, and at the same time engineering leadership roles, he was appointed as Polycom Asia Pacific’s interim President for four months, from February 2014 to June of the same year.

Paul Newell’s Appointment as Polycom ANZ Vice President

Paul Newell was appointed as the ANZ Vice President due to several reasons, but the major one is that it is a strategic move by the company. Considered as one of Asia Pacific’s largest markets of Polycom, the ANZ business is a critical market. And with his history and name in the channel and partner community, including his experience and knowledge of the business operations of Polycom in this community, Paul Newell is perfect for the job.

In his new appointment, Paul Newell is expected to work closely together with Geoff Thomas, Polycom Asia Pacific’s recently appointed President. Together, they will be responsible for ANZ’s operational excellence and revenue growth.

Polycom Asia Pacific President, Geoff Thomas was delighted with Newell’s appointment as his Vice President.
