Equipped with 8 1.6GHz Cortex-A53 cores and LTE Cat.6 2CA Modem, the new Exynos 7 Octa 7870 is structured to cater to modern mid-range mobile devices and smartphones. It uses Samsung’s most advanced process technology, the 14-nanometer (nm) FinFET.

Samsung Electronics System LSI marketing Vice President Ben K. Hur believes that the soon enough, Exynos 7 Octa 7870 will be widely used by mid-tier mobile devices and smartphones, especially with its increase in power efficiency and performance. And despite being mid-tier, these devices are expected to offer consumers enhanced performance in experience.

Samsung Electronics, through this industry’s first and more advanced FinFET processor, continuously strengthens its role in the mobile SoC market by introducing new advancements and innovations.

Mass production of the Exynos 7 Octa 7870 started in the 2016’s first quarter.
