Samsung receiving this SMM Champion Award is a first in terms of brands that received that award. This award was presented to the company due to its usage of sustainable materials when the company was making the Samsung Galaxy S6. In fact, it is the only mobile phone to receive the award and even be recognised by the program.

Samsung Galaxy S6 was created with materials, which are 99.9% recyclable while its packaging comes in 100% recyclable.

In addition to the SMM Champion Award, the company also received the SMM Electronics Challenge Tier Award Gold Level for its exceptional leadership when it comes to e-waste collection and recycling.
