The company conducts their researches for free, focusing on IT decision makers and other key players in different businesses and public organizations. Polycom and Quocirca’s Findings on Use and Effects of Video Collaboration Solutions

Quocirca was able to uncover data, as well as benefits, of using video collaboration solutions. The survey shows that 90% of the people who make use of video to collaborate in their operations experience increase in productivity and financial savings, by reducing their travel expenses. Better teamwork was also evident.

More than 80% of the respondents in the survey have their fiscal savings linked so that both business decisions and transactions will be made faster, thus improving the employee’s work and life balance. In all respondents, 50% believes that there will be an increase in video usage if people will also have more access to it. In fact, there are only very few organizations that use video on desktop and mobile devices. And for their larger conference rooms, the availability of video is astoundingly limited.

Quocirca’s Research and Analysis House, Rob Bamforth believes that the value of technologies which fall in the category of networking increases in great deal when the number of people who are connected also increases. Furthermore he said, “Video conferencing is no exception. Moreover, increasing usage also generates more familiarity and comfort with the whole experience. Encouraging a culture of video adoption would therefore seem to benefit both the individual and the organization.”

Going back to the survey, 45% of the respondents are frequently using mobile devices when joining video conferences like laptops, mobile phones, and tablets. In addition, 35% of the digital native workers, who are aging at most 25 years old and considered as the future of all industries, use videos anywhere frequently. These numbers will grow when the usage of mobile devices already grows, which will lead to working arrangement that are more flexible.

Polycom’s Chief Marketing Officer, Jim Kruger is convinced that the way which the people are working today is also changing. He also said, “Mobility, BYOD, social and collaboration solutions like video conferencing combined with the desire to reduce real estate costs are causing businesses around the world to rethink the traditional office setting. We’re seeing the measurable impact video collaboration is having, but with just a fraction of organizations around the globe using video regularly, the results of this survey illustrate its potential in any work environment and across every industry.”

In general, organizations in different industries and regions, including Polycom, will have measurable results because of video collaboration. In fact, according to Quocirca’s survey, the video collaboration solutions increases productivity and fiscal savings. If you want to find out more about Polycom products, visit our store.
